The last few posts have been really focused on creating productive Boston apartments and home work spaces. That's truly our focus, but in order to better understand what makes a productive home work space, I thought we should explore a few other places that work really well.Read More
We are always looking for design inspiration, whether it is from our own home, a friends home, or one that we come across on the internet. Lately we have been finding some amazing bedroom designs that we absolutely love! Bedroom design is so important to me because it is the first place you see when you wake up, and the last place you see before you go to bed. Your bedroom should make you feel comfortable, happy, and safe. It should make you smile when you wake up, preparing you for your day ahead, and it should welcome you after a long day at the office. We believe any productive Boston apartment needs to start with the bedroom.Read More
I’ve always been much more productive studying or working outside of my home. In college, if I was getting anything done, I was in the library. Now that I've started working, whenever there was remote work to be done, I sought out the next best thing: my neighborhood Starbucks. I’m sure we’ve all experienced this before. You’ve found a cozy table and your $7 coffee is injecting rocket fuel into your finger tips. Nothing can stop you now, you’re moving so fast the keyboard may light on fire…until your computer alerts you that it has 10% battery, or the clock strikes 9:45 and the shop is about to close the doors.Read More
Let's take it back to the college days. At least for those of us who went to college in the city, the most exciting part about joining the ranks of the upper-class was getting the heck of campus. Simply from what I learned from those around me, it was a relatively simple process. You had a few options that generally brought you down the same path; a path that ended with each roommate sacrificing a full month's rent in the form of a realtor fee. Realtors and landlords post apartments, you send emails back and forth trying to coordinate with your fellow undergraduates (a nearly impossible task), and then you sign that phantom form without thinking and boom, just like that, you're forking over the big bucks.Read More
This is our first home together, and we've had so much fun working together to make it beautiful. It's funny that we qualify as a "Small" house--as city-dwellers, this place feels pretty darn spacious! Style-wise, we both love color, so the biggest challenge was making lots of different colorful things feel balanced and integrated through the whole apartment. And I love that all of our stuff is full of stories: the dresser we put together backwards, the first chairs I ever reupholstered, the rug his sister brought back from Turkey, artwork made by us and our family and friends.
If you're anything like us, you've got a long list of things you wish you had time or energy to do on a regular basis. Let's just name a few. Exercise. Read. Spend more time outdoors. Work from home. Write more music. Cook your favorite recipes, or learn a new one. Reconnect with family and friends. Save money. But if you're like us, there are many days when you're much more likely to be scrolling through Facebook on the couch to a background accompaniment of Food Network competitions (#CHOPPEDFTW #omgSUCHagoodbasket).Read More
